A message from David Atherton, dean, Academic and Liberal Studies:

Academic and Liberal Studies is pleased to welcome the following new staff to our team:

Linda Ismailos, CICE professor

Linda Ismailos is a professor in the CICE program in Academic and Liberal Studies. She has been teaching at Niagara College since 2013 in the School College Work Initiative and the Enhanced Language Training for Employment programs as well as teaching a variety of psychology courses in Academic & Liberal Studies. Ismailos holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Education in Teaching, Learning and Development, and is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers. She is currently in the process of completing her PhD in Education Studies in the Cognition and Learning stream where she is preparing to defend her dissertation focused on the development of self-efficacy and the transition of students with exceptionalities into post-secondary education. Her professional areas of interest include diversity and inclusion, experiential learning, and mental health.

Emily Dockrill Jones, Communications professor

Emily Dockrill Jones grew up in the Niagara Region, leaving to pursue her Bachelor of Arts at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia and then her Master’s degree in English at York University in Toronto. She has taught at Loyalist and George Brown colleges, Ryerson University, and Western University, and developed courses for multiple other post-secondary institutions in Canada and the United States. Dockrill also ran her own communications firm for nearly a decade, offering a variety of writing, editing, and corporate training services. Having settled back in the Niagara Region, she is happy to have found a permanent home here at NC.
