Another year, another successful United Way workplace campaign for Niagara College.
Through generous donations by employees and a variety of fundraising activities, NC raised just over $41,000 in its 2019 campaign, which kicked off in August at Niagara Day and wrapped up in December at the President’s holiday reception.
Co-chairs of NC’s 2019 United Way Campaign, Carolyn Triemstra (dean, Community and Health Studies), and Michele O’Keefe (associate director, Athletics and Recreation) are grateful for the College community’s support from payroll deductions and event participation to donated prizes and organized events.
“We are proud to continue Niagara College’s legacy of supporting the United Way, which has a profound impact on helping those in need in our communities,” said Triemstra. “Thank you to the dedicated staff and faculty who supported NC’s United Way 2019 campaign, including our campaign committee of volunteers who helped out at Niagara Day and throughout the year, and the many departments who coordinated fundraisers.”
Since NC launched its first campaign to support the United Way in 1991, it has raised over $800,000 for the Niagara-based charitable organization, which raises funds for local community programs and services to help change lives and create positive change. One in three Niagara residents use a program or service that is funded by the United Way.
“The generosity and support that Niagara College has shown throughout the 2019 campaign has been significant,” said Cortney Gusek, Leadership Giving Officer. “With the aid of a strong and motivated committee, Niagara College employees collectively contributed over $41,000 which is an increase from the previous year. United Way is extremely grateful to Niagara College for your ongoing support through employee giving and numerous special events.”
