Niagara College’s Sean Kennedy was in the Niagara Dailies as the newly announced President of Niagara College following the upcoming retirement of Dr. Dan Patterson.

Currently the senior vice-president International and having been part of NC’s senior administration for 14 years, the coverage outlines Kennedy’s background. John Scott, chair of the Board of Governors, commends Kennedy for bringing “the ideal combination of energy, experience, vision and community connections that will help him lead Niagara College into the next chapter of its remarkable history.”

Writer Grant LaFleche asks Kennedy to describe his approach to taking the reigns from long-standing President Patterson, to which Kennedy explains that Patterson has encouraged him to make the role his own.

“I thought about it a lot. How do I fill those shoes? But Dan told me I didn’t have to. I had to be my own person. I have my own leadership style,” said Kennedy.

Kennedy explains that it was his love for Niagara College that drew him to the role.
