CHCH Evening News host Jason Gaidola visited NC’s Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus to interview Dr. Dan Patterson, outgoing President who has served Niagara College for the past 25-years, and who leaves behind a great legacy.
Patterson is seen in the segment engaging with students around campus, and Gaidola gives viewers a look inside Patterson’s legacy of innovation. Patterson explains that the College has anticipated labour markets of today and tomorrow to rise from being an underdog to a top-tier college.
President and CEO of Colleges and Institutes Canada, Denise Amyot, credits Patterson for capitalizing on the resources in Niagara to align programming in support of local businesses.
“You have to innovate to survive,” said Patterson. “At the height of my game, maybe that’s the time for fresh leadership, fresh approaches.”
