A message from the Centre for Student Engagement and Leadership:
Nominations are open until November 1 for Niagara College’s Leadership Exploration And Development (LEAD@nc) co-curricular program.
The program offers students from any academic area the opportunity to explore and further develop their leadership skills.
Commencing in November and concluding in early April, LEAD NC fosters the growth and development of students by providing the tools, knowledge and experience to make them leaders, not only at Niagara College, but in the community – as alumni, and through their careers. Last year, more than 400 students from 80 program areas were nominated for the program.
With a new multi-level approach, students can work to become a Bronze, Silver or Gold Leader at their own pace. Program offerings are available in-person, as well as online through the Get Involved CCR portal (getinvolved.niagaracollege.ca).
Through workshops, guest speakers and experiential learning opportunities, students leverage the solid academic foundation they are developing, gain a competitive edge through extra skills and competencies, are introduced to valuable leadership skills and experience, and further enhance their resumes and portfolios. Successful students will earn a LEAD Leadership credential on their Co-Curricular Record (CCR).
Staff or faculty members can nominate students for the program, and are encouraged to do so.
