Satbir Singh wrote about NC’s recent awards success in which the Teaching Brewery won two silver awards at the 2019 Golden Tap and Ontario Brewing Awards, hosted by Taps Media, for its Beer 101 Bitter and Beer 101 Strong.
Singh notes Beer 101 Bitter’s history of wins – a total of 12 awards since 2018 – as well as a cool 10 awards for Beer 101 Strong dating back to 2011.
NC’s Steve Gil, general manager of Learning Enterprises, comments on the college’s leadership in the Ontario craft beer industry. Gil states that awards like this are a testament to the hands-on, applied education that NC’s Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program is known for.
Aaron Duff, a fourth semester Brewmaster student, was the winner of Taps Media’s Golden Boot Award. Duff’s German wheat beer, ‘Roll the Weiss,’ won recognition and a cash prize as part of Taps Media’s Golden Boot Scholarship at Niagara College.
