NC’s Marc Nantel, vice-president, Research, Innovation and Strategic Initiatives discusses the impact of new funding for the innovative Greenhouse Technology Network based at Niagara College on Newstalk 610 CKTB. Nantel explains that this network will help the systems that grow produce for human consumption, as well as aiding in sustainability in the greenhouse industry through the use of new technologies. The $5 million federal funding announcement will impact student learning through the creation of a new greenhouse and give students exposure to the kind of research helping the industry to innovate. Nantel notes the Network’s important partnership between the University of Guelph and Vineland Research.
