Bill Sawchuk writes in The St. Catharines Standard about Niagara Emergency Medical Services superintendent Carolyn Chandler-Hill who received the Regional Chair’s Award for Valour for going above and beyond the call of duty while helping a person contemplating dying by suicide. Chandler-Hill graduated from NC’s Paramedic program in 2007.

In the article, Regional Chair Jim Bradley credits Chandler-Hill for placing the needs of the individual in distress ahead of her own, saving a life.
Over her 12-year career, Chandler-Hill has advanced from primary care paramedic to advanced care paramedic. She will now take on the role of operations superintendent with Niagara EMS where she will provide support and guidance to front-line paramedics.
