The Welland Tribune announced that Alexis Higginbotham, NC alumna from the Public Relations program (2012) is the new executive director of the Welland Downtown BIA.
Higginbotham is a Welland native who holds a bachelor of arts in communication studies from Brock University and a graduate certificate in public relations from Niagara College. Higginbotham and the BIA represent more than 320 local businesses.
Higginbotham, who has been involved with the Welland Chamber of Commerce and the Welland Canal Corporation as a volunteer, says those connections with key players and organizations will be helpful in her new role.
