Niagara This Week shared the story of Carl Johnson, resident at Meadows of Dorchester in Niagara Falls, who was granted his wish to see Gordon Lightfoot in concert, thanks to a team of dedicated volunteers and Niagara College’s Second Wind Dreams project. Recreation Therapy student Lana Reid made Johnson’s experience possible as part of her placement at the long-term care home, getting to know Johnson, then fundraising and putting the wheels in motion for the big day on April 11. This included a limousine ride to Casino Niagara for dinner and gambling, and then to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines to see Gordon Lightfoot in concert.
