Beginning in late April, ncLibraries at both the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake Campuses will have service disruptions as part of the renovations.
The Welland Campus Library and Learning Commons renovation began in December and is well underway.
April marks the beginning of the library renovation project at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus Library and Learning Commons.
The ncLibraries renovation at both campuses will result in:
- New and more seating for students;
- Redesigned, flexible library space able accommodate individual and collaborative study and work;
- Enhanced active and experiential learning opportunities in the Exploratory (digital maker space);
- An improved Test Centre.
NOTL Library and Learning Commons
The NOTL Campus Library and Learning Commons will be closed for renovations from April 19 to August 26, as staff will be supervising the moving of books and setting up the library in a temporary location, opening Monday, April 29 for the duration of the summer. On April 29, the NOTL Campus Library will be temporarily relocated to the Marotta Building: N136, N137, N138, and N139.
Students and staff can expect the following service disruptions at the NOTL campus library this summer:
- The majority of the print collection (including DVDs, maps, magazines and journals) will not be available. High use items have been identified and will be circulated from the temporary library location.
- Normal summer hours are expected: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours are subject to change to accommodate construction. Please visit the ncLibraries website for up-to-date information: nclibraries.niagaracollege.ca/library
Welland Library and Learning Commons
The Welland Campus Library and Learning Commons will be closed from April 29 to May 10 as staff relocate the collection as part of the ongoing renovation project. During this time, library staff will be packing, moving, and unpacking the collection.
Please expect the following service disruptions between April 29 and May 10:
- No access to print collection (including DVDs, magazines and journals) or equipment
- Library will be closed on Friday, May 2 and Monday, May 6.
- Beginning Tuesday, May 7, the new Library Service Desk location will be open with limited service hours, schedule to be determined.
Please note that the Library Service Desk and most seating areas will remain open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
