Niagara This Week covered Oakville MP and parliamentary secretary Pam Damoff’s visit to NC’s Rankin Technology Centre on March 26 where she spoke with students, faculty and staff about the new changes affecting the trades industry within 2019 budget. Damoff commented on the job opportunities in the skilled trades and the support the government is offering through the budget.St. Catharines MP Chris Bittle and Niagara Centre MP Vance Badawey were in attendance and echoed Damoff’s announcement. Roberta Mara Machado de Souza, a first-year carpentry and renovations student, comments on her employment prospects, and Marco Giorgi, construction technologist at NC, notes that recent graduates in the program had a 100% placement rate for both co-op and jobs.
