On March 27, dean of NC’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute Craig Youdale will moderate a panel discussion at the seventh annual Food and Drink Summit, to be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre March 26-28.

On the panel, Youdale will be joined by Scott Simmons, president of Ontario Craft Brewers Association; Jim Goetz, president of the Canadian Beverage Association; Omid McDonald, CEO of Dairy Distillery; and Dan Paszkowski, president/CEO of Canadian Vintners Association. Beginning at 1 p.m., the panel will discuss the topic: Future Taste and Industry Growth for Canadian Beverages.

“It is important to have the College connected to the future of the beverage industry in Canada,” said Youdale. “The opportunity to moderate this important group in discussing our industry is something I am really honoured to be involved in and I am looking forward to the discussion.”

The annual two-day summit gathers leaders and stakeholders across Canada’s food and beverage sector to discuss the future of the industry in regards to technology, government legislation and the needs of Canadians. Through a series of panel discussions and speeches, participants will explore the food and beverage industry’s impact on Canadian jobs, lives, health and the environment over the next five years.

“In our industry, the Canadian Food and Wine Institute is the leading educational component for the future of the industry in Canada,” said Youdale. “It is important that we are connected to where the industry is heading, and how we can support and innovate along with our industry partners.”

NC employees have access to a $300 discount on admission to the event with the discount code: SPNSF. Student rates are also available by contacting the Conference Board of Canada ticket office at [email protected].
