A gentle reminder that all applications for the 2019-2020 Tuition Assistance Program are due on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019.
Niagara College recognizes the importance of continuous learning for faculty and staff. To assist with ongoing development and to support the College’s strategic goal to attract, retain and develop a strong team, the Tuition Assistance Program was created. Each year, the Tuition Assistance Program assists qualified, full-time faculty and staff to pay for a portion of the tuition costs associated with eligible educational endeavors.
All permanent, full-time Niagara College employees who have completed their probationary period by March 31, 2019 are eligible to apply for the Tuition Assistance Program.
Additional information, application form and FAQ’s are available on the COE website.
Testimonials from Tuition Assistance Program Participants
The Tuition Assistance Program is a fantastic opportunity for employees to further develop their skills and abilities within their current role or future roles. I am a true believer in being a lifetime learner. As full-time staff, I strongly urge those who are contemplating completing additional certifications, to really consider this. We are fortunate to work for an organization who is willing to invest in the further education of their employees.
– Ali Weir, Outreach Student Recruitment Coordinator
Lifelong learning is imperative in the profession of Nursing and I have the opportunity to use my enhanced knowledge and skills every day. The Mental Health Program I am taking currently is particularly helpful to ensure my mental health practice is evidence informed and aligned with best practice recommendations. The Tuition Assistance Program is very helpful. It’s great to feel supported by your employer as you further your education. I would encourage everyone to explore the education options available. There are so many flexible programs available!
– Christine Philbrick, College Nurse
