The Niagara College Teaching Winery is bringing seasonal flavours to the table during the 24th Annual Niagara Icewine Festival from Jan. 11 to Jan. 28.

Kicking off the festivities, representatives from the Teaching Winery will pour samples of their Cabernet Franc, Les Marmitons Chardonnay and Prodigy Icewine at the Northern Lights Icewine Gala at Fallsview Casino Resort on Jan. 11.

With free admission to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Icewine Village along historic Queen Street, NCTW’s Prodigy Icewine will be a sip you won’t want to miss on Jan. 19-20 and Jan. 26-27. This winter wine is a unique blend of Vidal, Riesling and Chardonnay.

For the 17th year in a row, the Teaching Winery is also part of the festival’s Discovery Pass program, which offers food and wine pairing passport at participating wineries. The NCTW, joined by Benchmark Restaurant, is offering samples of its 2017 Prodigy Icewine and 2013 Balance Brut paired with a caramelized onion, rosemary and goat cheese tart, and a vanilla raspberry cheesecake with graham cracker crust.

In honour of the annual Icewine Festival, the NC Teaching Brewery has created Icewine Berliner Weisse, which will be available on tap starting Jan. 11. The NC Brewery is open Sunday to Friday 11 a.m.–5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
