The Human Resources programs at Niagara College came together on the evening of April 10 to host the annual Employer Appreciation/Alumni Dinner.
More than 140 people were in attendance including employers who have hosted co-op and internship experiences, HR faculty and team members, and students from all three programs – Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Human Resources) (degree), Human Resources Management (graduate certificate, and Business Administration – Human Resources (Co-op) (diploma)
“This event provided an opportunity for students to network with HR employers, alumni from the HR programs, and HR program team members making important connections for their future careers,” said Holly Catalfamo, professor, School of Business and Management Studies.
The event was held at Carpaccio’s Ristorante in Niagara Falls which has generously supported the event for several years, including spectacular food in a sophisticated environment, said Catalfamo.
Catalfamo noted that the College’s student HR association HR@NC, did an outstanding job organizing the event under the leadership of events director, Charlotte Butko.
Two employers were recognized for their outstanding contribution to student development through their co-op and internships: Rachel Forgeron, Commercial Cleaning Services and Phil Lustri, Post Foods. Students also raised funds to support the upcoming Rankin Run for Cancer.
