Alumni from the College’s Public Relations graduate certificate program were welcomed back to their alma mater for a graduate panel discussion on March 29 at the Welland Campus.

Six Public Relations graduates participated in this year’s PR graduate panel discussion, where they offered their professional insights and experience with this year’s class.

The alumni panel included Ray McIIroy, senior account manager, Veritas Communications (Class of 2008); David Holmes, director of Klick Culture, Klick Health (Class of 2003); Riley McGilvray, marketing assistant, Andrew Peller Limited (Class of 2015); Dave Mammoliti, manager in executive education, DeGroote School of Business (Class of 2008); Jason Petznick, graphic designer and coordinator, Bike Park Marketing program, Blue Mountain Resort (Class of 2008); and Tandi Chabwa, marketing and digital media coordinator, Railway City Brewing Company (Class of 2017).

The PR grad panel is an annual event in the program, held to provide current students with an outlet to discuss the PR working landscape with past graduates, as well as an occasion for the graduates to give advice and tips about future PR employment with students preparing to enter the industry.

“This is a great way to send our current students off on their field placements,” said said Linda Warren Camus, professor in charge of the annual event. “By talking to graduates who were once in their shoes, they get first-hand advice on what to expect and an encouraging look into their promising future.”
