Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Niagara on Monday, Dec. 11.
Widespread accumulating snow is likely this afternoon, tonight (Dec. 11) and into Tuesday (Dec. 12) with an expected snowfall of five to 10 cm by Tuesday morning.
The snow is expected to begin this afternoon and taper off to a few flurries later tonight or Tuesday morning. Although localized amounts of 10 to 15 cm are possible, the snowfall warning criterion of 15 cm snow in 12 hours is not expected to be reached.
Poor winter driving conditions are likely late this afternoon and tonight. Untreated roads may become snow covered and slippery.
Staff, students and visitors should use caution when travelling and plan for extra time to reach their destination. Please drive and walk according to road, sidewalk and winter weather conditions; wear proper footwear and dress appropriately.
College staff and our winter service provider will monitor the weather and salt walkways and parking lots as required. As winter maintenance equipment may be operating during school hours, please ensure that you stay a safe distance away where possible.
Please continue to monitor alerts issued by Niagara College and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. While not expected, any potential college closures will be posted to niagaracollege.ca
