NCSAC: Choose an ornament, buy a gift for a child before Dec. 15

NCSAC reps are collecting toys for children during the holiday season. Pictured (from left) are Vineet Bhatia (director of Special Events), Liam Fitzsimons (Welland Campus director of Goodwill) and Tom Price (NOTL director of Goodwill).

A message from the Niagara College Student Administrative Council:

Every Christmas morning, a child, regardless of location, deserves to wake up to a present. We here at NCSAC, as per one of our favourite traditions, want to make that happen for as many children as possible.

The process is simple: find a Christmas tree located the Library/ Learning Commons (both campuses). On those trees, you’ll find an ornament. Each ornament includes a child’s name and their age. From there, simply buy a toy that is appropriate for the age group. There is no limit as to what you can spend – the average is $20.

You’ll have until December 15 to purchase and return the gift to the tree. We ask that you please do not wrap the present, simply tape the ornament to it. You may also simply place the gift in a bag and leave it at the tree as well.

Once we collect them, they will be distributed to the children whose names are on the ornaments. Toys collected from NCSAC from the NOTL Campus will be distributed via Project Share, while those collected from the Welland Campus will be distributed to Community Christmas Toys.

To date, hundreds of children have woken up to presents on Christmas day that their families would

have otherwise not been able to provide. Let’s work together to ensure even more smiles are made, and memories created through such a wonderful campaign.
