NC president Dan Patterson was among the core faculty for the Leadership Institute, which attracted college and applied research leaders from across the country. The program focused on the current and emerging requirements of the role of applied research leaders in colleges and institutes, and explored the leadership profile and skills that are essential for success.

During their time at NC, participants discussed external partnerships, intellectual property, media relations and culinary research, and toured College facilities including the teaching winery and brewery, culinary and sensory labs, and the aquaponics project in the NC Greenhouse.

NC faculty and staff who served as presenters include Business faculty Holly Catafalmo, research project manager Kristine Canniff, research dissemination and outreach manager Carolyn Mullin, and chef Trevor Littlejohn.
