Chip wagon welcomes college students

Chef professor Mark Picone led his Culinary Cost Control class on a road  trip to Niagara Falls on June 9, giving students a taste of two successful operations: Jake’s Chip Truck and Italian Icecream.

Jake’s, established in 1945, have a single menu item of locally sourced, hand peeled and cut, fried potatoes with only two seasoning options: salt and/or vinegar (no ketchup).  Italian Icecream is an iconic master gelato maker with numerous selections, that include Dark Chocolate, Lemon Basil Ice and Pistachio.
