A message from Greg Medulun, VP of External Relations:
I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Wendy Dueck as Niagara College’s director, Development and Alumni Relations.
Wendy joined NC as a development officer for Foundation and Alumni Relations in April 2014 where she worked on major gift fundraising for the College’s Achieving Dreams Campaign, to raise $7 million in community donations to support campus redevelopment, equipment, scholarships and bursaries, and work-study abroad opportunities.
She became acting director of development for the Foundation and Alumni Relations in September 2015, following the retirement of former director Lyn Russo.
Wendy takes on a very important role at our College, directing the daily operations of the Foundation and Alumni Relations department, including activities related to scholarships and bursaries, engaging the College’s alumni community, fundraising, and donor-related special events. She plays a key role in philanthropic activities, leading and managing the Achieving Dreams Campaign to support a $50-million campus redevelopment project to further modernize the learning environment and enhance the student experience.
A life-long learner, Wendy holds a BA in Communications, a MA in Community Studies and Adult Education, an Advanced Diploma in Fundraising, and has attained a Certified Fund Raising Executive professional certification. She has more than 25 years of professional experience in management, human resources, communications and fundraising. Prior to joining NC, Wendy was executive director and director of campaign communications for the Niagara Health System Foundation, responsible for management of a $40-million capital campaign.
Please join me in congratulating Wendy and wishing her continued success in the director of development role.
