NC’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute has been hosting industry partners this summer as part of its new Expert Edge team building exercises.

Open to the public and geared to corporations, Expert Edge team building exercises are held at the CFWI and are tailored to match the requirements of participants. Groups will have the opportunity to work together and be challenged while being guided by one of the CFWI’s many industry experts.

Here’s a snapshot of one of the most popular sessions: Burger Wars:

Sessions begin with an introduction to the CFWI, followed by an intense but interactive burger demonstration by a CFWI expert. Teams are then set loose to create and build the most creative burger possible, with a pantry full of ingredients. Teams race against the clock, having one hour to design and execute the task. Energies rise as teams compete to create the best burger faculty judges have ever seen.

Expert Edge exercises aim to create an atmosphere for industry employees to connect and work together on a challenging and rewarding  task. Following the sessions, groups have the opportunity to debrief and analyze their strengths as well as missed opportunities, and how to build stronger foundations of teamwork. These activities have been proven to enhance working relationships and benefit colleagues once they return to the workplace.

CFWI is very pleased to offer these opportunities to industry partners, professionals and local businesses who are in need of a fun, and meaningful day out while building memories to share around the water cooler.

Participants have included TD Canada Trust and Henry Schein Canada.
