School of Technology welcomes Joe Otta as full-time professor

Joe Otta has has taken on a full-time position as Mechanical Engineering Technology professor.

A message from Erin Stitt-Cavanagh, PhD, associate dean, School of Technology:

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph (Joe) Otta as professor Mechanical Engineering Technology in the School of Technology effective August 15.

As a Niagara College graduate, Joe distinguished himself as an exemplary student who went on from a successful co-op with Georgia Pacific Canada in 2005 to work as first as maintenance planner and supervisor, and next as maintenance manager where he was responsible for maintenance of all plant equipment. In 2014, Joe joined Resolute Forest Products as maintenance superintendent where he provided leadership and direction to the electrical control system and mechanical maintenance teams.

In addition to his rich industrial experience, Joe has been a part-time professor here at Niagara College since 2014, teaching a number of courses including Dimensional Metrology, Computer Applications II and Engineering Drawings.

Please join me in welcoming Joe as he takes on a full-time role at Niagara College.
