NC winemaker to appear on CHCH Morning Live Oct. 1

Niagara College Teaching Winery’s head winemaker Terence Van Rooyen will be featured on CHCH TV Morning Live on Tuesday Oct. 1.

The segment is part of a promotion for Beauty and the Bistro – a fundraising event to be held in Burlington on evening of Oct. 19. The NC Teaching Winery will be one of eight wineries featured at the event, as well as 10 restaurants and three breweries.

Van Rooyen’s will appear on CHCH Morning Live, which airs from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., to speak about Niagara College’s involvement with the event, as well as the wines that will be featured there. He will also conduct a wine tasting, and speak about the College and its programs. Van Rooyen’s segment, with Lori De Angelis, is expected to air between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.

This will be the second year that the NC Teaching Winery has participated in Beauty and The Bistro.

One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation to help purchase diagnostic equipment for breast cancer diagnosis.

The event was launched in October 2010. Last year, more than $75,000 was raised.

The event will be held at Leggat Cadillac, 2207 Fairview St., Burlington.
