Summer hours at Niagara College Dental Clinic are giving students and clients a new reason to smile.
Due to an expanded six-term Dental Hygiene program, Niagara College’s Dental Clinic is open during the summer for the first time ever – and it needs more clients.
The College’s first group of six-term students in the program, who will receive the newly sanctioned Advanced Diploma credential after they complete the program on August 16, receive more clinical experience as a result of the expanded program.
Clients of Niagara College’s Dental Clinic receive dental care provided by students and supervised by faculty. Clients are seen by student in the Dental Hygiene program, as well as a registered dental hygienist and receive a dental exam on site. There is always a dentist at the clinic.
Open to community residents five years old and older, the NC Dental Clinic offers many regular dental services however, at a fraction of the cost. Fees range between $25-$35 for adult clients.
Appointments include a complete examination, a thorough cleaning, polishing and scaling of teeth. Radiographs and fluoride treatments are provided as required. Additional services such as panoramic radiographs and whitening are available at additional cost. Restorative dental services are available after as well as youth and child dental services for children age five to 15.
To encourage new clients this season, a summer special is being offered for free whitening with a completed treatment. The special ends on August 8.
Appointments for adult dental services are three hours in length.
The Dental Clinic is located at the Welland Campus in the Applied Health Institute (room AH 21). Parking is free at the Welland Campus for Dental Clinic clients.
The dental clinic’s summer hours continue until August 16, and will re-open in September.
