October 4th is Sisters in Spirit National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ People. Native Women’s Association of Canada established this day to raise awareness, educate, research and collect data on the violence against Indigenous Women. The day is often observed through vigils, walks or marches that honour the memory of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ People.

The City of St. Catharines will be hosting a Sisters in Spirit walk starting at City Hall at 5pm and musical showcase to follow at the Performing Arts Centre at 7pm – learn more here.
