Writing More Effective Multiple Choice Questions

September 1, 2021 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Writing effective multiple-choice items, particularly those that require students to integrate, apply and synthesize course concepts, is challenging. In this workshop, we will explore strategies to create multiple-choice questions that are fair, unambiguous, and strongly linked to your course learning outcomes. Participants will review principles of good test construction to help when developing or refining their own multiple-choice assessments. Together, we will also consider the role of multiple-choice questions in digital learning environments and discuss academic integrity considerations.
