Indigenous People’s Month Paint Party: Metis Dot Art Edition
June 4, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join Indigenous Education for a fun and creative Métis Dot Art Workshop in Celebration of Indigenous Peoples Month!
Métis Dot Art is a vibrant and colorful painting style inspired by traditional Métis beadwork. Known for their stunning floral designs, Métis people have long expressed their connection to the land through intricate patterns. Dot Art honors these rich traditions, reflecting the beauty and symbolism of nature. Christi Belcourt, one of the mothers of the Dot Art style, describes it as “celebrating the beauty of the natural world while exploring nature’s symbolic properties. The land is encoded in Métis beliefs and is found in the designs and symbols within the artwork.”
This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to explore the Dot Art style, try something new, relax, and connect with the land and community. All supplies are provided—just bring yourself!
