Description
Gratitude is about noticing good things that are happening all around you, savouring the kindness and generosity of others, and finding opportunities that you can explore.
As human beings, we have an amazing capacity for adaptation to the rough times. We find a way to work around them, adapt and to some extent accept things as they are. Choosing to adopt a grateful emotional state of well being whereby we feel blessed and worthy of something wonderful that happened is gratitude. We will discuss how we can train our brain to look for possibilities with a sense of wonder, practice the “Three Good Things” exercise, and invite you to engage in a mini meditation called the three minute breathing space.
“Gratitude is important not only because it helps us feel good, but also because it inspires us to do good. Gratitude heals, energizes, and transforms lives in a myriad of ways consistent with the notion that virtue is both its own reward and produces other rewards (Emmons, 2007).”
