From Resistance to Radiance: Narratives of Trans Activism in Canada
November 18 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
From Resistance to Radiance: Narratives of Trans Activism in Canada traces the powerful journey of trans activism and advocacy in Canadian contexts.
This talk explores the stories of individuals and communities who challenged systemic barriers, defied invisibility, and sparked transformative change across generations. Through historical snapshots and lived narratives, we’ll uncover the legacies of those who organized, protested, created space, and reimagined what justice and trans existence could look like. More than a history lesson, this is a celebration of the radiance that emerges when trans voices are not only heard but celebrated.
Join us in reflecting on how resistance became a catalyst for visibility, dignity, and liberation and how these narratives continue to inspire trans existence and joy.
Co-hosted by NC’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Centre for Academic Excellence teams, this event is being provided in a hybrid format. Participants are welcome to join in person on the Welland Campus in AH255 or virtually through Zoom.
