When I first arrived in Canada it was late at night. I had an airport pick-up, and the driver was waiting for me outside. The driver was so nice and knew that I was the newcomer. He asked me whether I had my dinner or not. When I said no, so he drove me the nearest restaurant before going to the college residence. My arrival was during the Christmas holiday period and there was nobody in the lobby of the residence. I used the driver’s telephone to call the number on the door and a few minutes later, the residence staff came out to meet me. When I got to my room, I found there was no pillow and blanket on the bed, so I went downstairs and asked the staff for help. They immediately brought me a pillow and blanket from storage and let me keep them. I was so grateful to the driver and staff because it was nighttime, and I felt so helpless. They helped and were so patient with me. I will never forget the first day when I came here, and I will cherish this memory forever.
