You will receive an overview of the field of occupational health and safety. You will learn about the development of health and safety over the years, and why we have health and safety regulations. You will be introduced to and understand legislation affecting workers and employers. You will explore the nature of common occupational health hazards and their effects on the human body. You will understand safety requirements and protective measures, including the use of personal protective equipment. Safety management in a working environment will also be discussed.
