This course is an introduction to basic statistics for learners in biological sciences. Emphasis will be placed on understanding fundamental principles and techniques of health statistics. The course will prepare entry-level baccalaureate nurses to define and explain core descriptive and inferential statistical concepts and methods, improving their understanding and interpretation of research results in published health journals and reports. Learners will also be introduced to statistical data entry, analysis, and interpretation software. Examples from current peer-reviewed articles in the health literature will be used to facilitate learning.
