This course is designed to provide students with knowledge of various social services across the public and private sectors, with a focus on supports available at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. Students will explore systems and services as they relate to individuals and communities affected by housing insecurity and homelessness, medical and health care issues, domestic violence, aging, and sexual violence. These areas will be examined through both psychological and sociological perspectives, using an anti-oppressive lens to understand the experiences of those impacted and to analyze how systems respond to their needs critically.
