Description:

This course introduces students to strength-based, brief counselling models with a focus on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Through theoretical learning and applied practice, students develop core skills in goal setting, client engagement, and culturally responsive counselling. Emphasis is placed on working from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens, and respectful approaches which promote client self-determination. Students will engage in role-plays, case studies, and virtual counselling simulations to enhance their practical competence and professional accountability.
