In this course, students will explore what it means to be a professional in social service work. Students will be introduced to the ethics, competencies, and the scope of practice while reflecting on how their own personal values, identities, and life experiences shape their approach to helping. Through self-reflection, feedback, and critical thinking, students will learn to integrate individual and professional awareness, apply the Code of Ethics, and prepare for the expectations of field placement.
