Description:

This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to move upstream in promoting health equity and health justice using integrative approaches that are premised on cultural safety and humility, accessibility, anti-racism, anti-bias, anti-oppression, human rights, intersectionality, trauma responsiveness, collaboration, gender-affirming and strengths-based care. Students will be prepared as professionals to identify the specific determinants of health for equity-denied and Indigenous communities, address historical injustices, and promote holistic, respectful, safe, just and equitable care.
