Description:

In this course you will explore the different fields of private investigative work along with the various types of investigations and different specializations of private investigators. You will learn to work in compliance with the Private Security and Investigative Services Act and the general duties, standards, practices, regulations and prohibitions contained in that Act. You will learn best practices for handling information in accordance with protection of privacy legislation. You will examine the relevant elements of tort law, libel, slander and perjury that are required to investigate the facts of a case appropriately. You will explore physical surveillance techniques and the legislation pertaining to intimidation and stalking. You will learn best practices for investigating corporate theft and espionage.
