Students build on the basic massage therapy skills learned and practiced in the first semester. Students are introduced to a variety of clinical assessment skills, including observations, palpations and specific special tests. Using assessment findings to arrive at a clinical impression will enhance students' ability to develop treatment plans and to promote positive client outcomes effectively and safely. Pharmacology and its implications for massage with non-prescription and alternative substances are addressed.
