Description:

Abnormal psychology is the branch of psychology that addresses the description, causes, treatment, and prevention of psychological disorders. You will address the problem of defining abnormal behaviour; the range of perspectives (biological, psychological, and sociocultural) that psychologists take to understand abnormal behaviour; classification systems used in diagnosing abnormal behaviour; a variety of the most common psychological disorders; and a survey of methods and programs designed to treat and prevent psychological disorders. You will acquire the tools to understand the key issues and keep up-to-date with a field that is constantly changing.
