This introductory field placement exposes students to the role of Early Childhood Education (ECE) resource consultant, emphasizing collaboration to support children with special needs. 150 hours of supervised practice, students build on prior knowledge to explore how Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) and resource consultants work together, applying current legislation, policies, and evidence-informed practices. In consultation with the service team, students observe and assist with administering and interpreting observation tools to contribute to Family Service Plans. They observe and assist in designing inclusive program adaptations grounded in play-based pedagogy, while reflecting on their strategies and professional growth.
