Field Placement allows you to apply theory to practice by benefiting from the knowledge and guidance of an Educational Assistant or Support Staff. You will gain valuable experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in an educational, residential, or vocational setting. In your third placement, you will develop competency alongside professionals in your chosen field and apply your skills to support individuals, implement programs, and follow policies and expectations independently. This field placement consists of a minimum of 132 hours under the supervision of an Educational Assistant/Adult Support professional. Opportunities for self-reflection on vocational performance in the field and ability to build relationships with individuals you are supporting will be provided.
