This course is structured to enable students to further develop the skills and knowledge obtained in their previous placement experience. Students will be matched with a community social service agency where they will attend and participate as scheduled. Once familiarized with the community agency, it's clients and other stakeholders, students will become immersed in their role and begin demonstrating further development of the skills and knowledge required in the Social Service Worker role. Students will be expected to begin to take on a greater level of independence while still being consistently supervised. Students will demonstrate professionalism consistent with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. This field placement totals a minimum of 189 hours.
