This field placement is designed as an introduction to the field of child and youth care. You will gain exposure to a setting where children and adolescents seek the benefits of therapeutic relationships and positive solutions to life's challenges. You will spend a minimum of 116 hours observing and interacting with youth under the supervision of a CYC professional. Supportive and facilitative hours will encourage self-reflective practice, skill development, and growth in communication techniques, as well as counselling theory and practice.
