Field Placement allows you to apply theory to practice by benefiting from the knowledge and guidance of an Educational Assistant or Support Staff. You will gain valuable experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in an educational, residential, or vocational setting. In your first placement, you will observe professionals in action, learn about the individuals you will be supporting, and be exposed to and adhere to programs, policies, and expectations. This field placement consists of a minimum of 132 hours under the supervision of an Educational Assistant/Adult Support professional. Opportunities for self-reflection on vocational performance in the field and ability to build relationships with individuals you are supporting will be provided.
