Description:

This course is an introduction to the role of the Social Service Worker within a community social service agency. Students will be matched to a community agency and attend there as scheduled in order to familiarize with the agency and the role of the social service worker. Students will begin to apply skills and knowledge obtained in previous and concurrent coursework through closely supervised engagement with the agency, their clients, and other stakeholders. Students will demonstrate professionalism consistent with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. The experience totals a minimum of 210 hours.
