Description:

This course will delve into specific aspects of laser systems including thermal effects and dependencies in DPSS lasers, longitudinal mode characteristics of beams, techniques and technology of Q-switching, implementation of non-linear optics, and measurement of CW and pulsed laser output. We will also examine laser safety issues (e.g. eyewear OD) as this is required for the laboratory component which allows investigation of these effects in practical laser systems.
