This course identifies the criteria demanded in the field of professional portraiture and outlines its various applications in electronic media. Students will distinguish between amateur and professional industry recognized standards in lighting patterns, staging, posing and print-outputs in photographic portraitures. The use of ambient light, the camera flash and studio light-bank strobes to create professional-grade portraits both in the studio and on location will be examined. The course will also introduce strategies to assist the photographer to identify and meet individual client expectations.
