This course is designed to introduce the students to common injuries that occur during physical activity. This course combines both the theory and practical applications of injury prevention and treatment. The role of the Fitness Professional in prevention, assessment, treatment and initial rehabilitation of common athletic injuries will be studied. Topics include: recognition and care of common athletic injuries, postural analysis and exercise prescription, physiology of injury, low back disorders, classification of injuries occurring during physical activity, and causes of injury.
